Sydney Harbour Roofing Pty Ltd (ABN 59 6XXXXXX) is a licensed, insured, and ASIC registered roofing contractor delivering high-quality residential and commercial roofing solutions across Sydney and surrounding regions. We are seeking a qualified, experienced Roof Plumber to join our permanent team on a full-time basis. This is a genuine, ongoing position with career progression opportunities.
The Position
Position: Roof Plumber
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (ongoing)
Hours: 38 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM typical)
Reporting To: Site Supervisor / Director
Duration: Minimum 2 years + ongoing
Salary & Remuneration
Annual Salary: AUD $79,500 per annum (full-time, 38 hours/week) + Superannuation (paid to nominated fund)
Payment: Fortnightly by direct deposit to bank account
Salary Review: Annual review in accordance with Fair Work Act 2009
Leave & Time Off:
Annual Leave: 4 weeks per annum
Personal/Carer's Leave: 10 days per annum
Public Holidays: In accordance with NSW entitlements
Long Service Leave: In accordance with Long Service Leave Act 1955 (NSW)
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Installation & Fabrication of Roof Systems:
Plan, set out and install roof drainage systems to specification
Install gutters, downpipes, rainwater heads, sumps and overflow devices
Install roof flashings (ridge, hip, valley, barge, apron, penetration)
Lay, cut, fold and fix metal roof sheeting and wall cladding
Install waterproof membranes, sarking and insulation systems
Technical & Specification Compliance:
Read and interpret architectural, engineering and construction drawings
Set out work on site using appropriate measurement techniques
Ensure compliance with Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards
Perform hydraulic calculations for roof drainage systems
Maintain knowledge of building defect prevention and remediation
Inspection, Diagnostics & Repair:
Conduct roof inspections and assess conditions
Diagnose roof failures, water ingress and leak sources
Perform remedial repair works on failed systems
Provide emergency leak containment and tarping services
Safety & Workplace Health:
Prepare and follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
Work safely at heights using approved fall-arrest systems
Erect and dismantle scaffolding in WHS compliance
Operate elevated work platforms safely
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Team Collaboration & Communication:
Liaise with clients, builders, site supervisors and trades
Provide clear technical communication
Coordinate work with sub-contractors and specialists
Work collaboratively as part of professional team
