Roofer / Carpenter's Helper

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Carpenter Helper to join our team. In this role, you will assist skilled carpenters in various construction and renovation projects. You will gain hands-on experience while contributing to the successful completion of tasks that require attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Ideal candidates should be eager to learn, possess basic maintenance person skills, and be comfortable with heavy lifting.

Must be willing to adhere to company safety program and perform duties in compliance with safety regulations & guidelines.

Duties

Assist carpenters in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.

Assist with all aspects of asphalt roofing replacement & repairs.

Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various tasks such as cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.

Perform caulking and sealing of joints to ensure durability and finish quality.

Help with the transportation of materials to job sites, including heavy lifting when necessary.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use.

Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques is preferred; previous experience as a maintenance person is a plus.

Experience in Roofing

Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.

Familiarity with hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, and measuring devices.

Willingness to learn from experienced carpenters and take direction effectively.

A positive attitude towards teamwork and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
