Salary: USD 2,275-2,+25/month (based on experience)
Expected Notice Period: 2 to 4 Weeks
Shift: 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM IST
Opportunity Type: Remote
Placement Type: Contractual
Contract Duration: Full-time, 6 months

Roles & Responsibilities
• The ideal candidate should also have the ability to take ownership of the entire backend and possibly have a senior role leading software development generally
• You would primarily work on the backend (mostly rails and some JavaScript - StimulusJS - and some HTML).
• You will be communicating with the QA team, the project manager, the frontend developer, the project lead and other backend developer
• You would work on Jira tickets, bug fixing, new implementations
This Role Requires:
• Expert-level experience with Rails
• Expert-level experience with HTML, StimulusJS, and Javascript
• Ideally, some experience with our frontend stack (react.js, next.js, and typescript)
• Strong experience with Heroku
• Fluent in English, & excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with live video, video streaming, and/or interactive video is preferred, but not required
• Potential to become backend lead and a senior member of the team (but not right away)
• Proactively take ownership & responsibility of entire backend, the codebase, and write code that is performant and secure
• Good communication, efficiency, productivity, no drama, etc.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, the PM, QA, product designer to develop and maintain product
• Leadership skills: experience leading a project, potential for leading other developers, but OK not being the lead in the short term
• The ideal candidate is also familiar with the frontend tech stack (react/next, typescript, javascript), but the role is mostly backend- APIs, new features, getting things situated for the frontend developers.
• Familiarity with Jira
