Job Title: RPG Developer
Location: Remote
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

As an RPG Developer, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting RPG-based applications within a fast-paced retail environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that streamline operations and improve customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain RPG programs for retail business applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration with existing systems, including ERP and POS solutions.
• Optimise and debug code for performance and functionality improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software on time.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Strong proficiency in RPG programming (RPG IV, ILE, and Free Format).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the retail sector.
• Hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries systems.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes, including supply chain, inventory management, and sales.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with ERP solutions in a retail environment.
• Knowledge of SQL and DB2 databases.
• Exposure to modern development practices like DevOps, CI/CD, or Cloud Technologies is a plus.
