An esteemed addiction treatment center in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals dealing with mental health and addictions. This permanent, full-time role offers a supportive and dynamic environment for a nurse passionate about contributing to the recovery journey of our clients.
Position Details
• Salary: $32–$36 per hour
• Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, including day and night rotations
Role Responsibilities
• Conducting comprehensive assessments, including detox evaluations, to inform treatment planning.
• Administering medications, monitoring effects, and providing necessary education.
• Collecting specimens for routine and random screenings.
• Performing pre-admission screenings to ensure a positive treatment fit and manage potential liabilities.
• Facilitating intake medical assessments, including vital signs and medication reviews.
• Collaborating closely with the medical team to address client needs and coordinate care.
• Providing compassionate care within a professional in-patient rehabilitation setting, focusing on substance abuse.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) Diploma.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and practice insurance.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Interest and experience in mental health and addictions treatment.
• Knowledge of addiction and concurrent disorders.
