Associate with the product Important modules, functionalities and features of the product (existing/new)Key Tasks/Responsibilities Build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code Integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system Create database schemas that represent and support business processes Application programming interface testing and providing access to front end developers Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to client problems Help in maintaining code quality and performance of the Lockated website. Responsible for the full development life-cycle from requirements through release to production Ensure that a program continues to function normally through software maintenance and testing Document every aspect of an application or system as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades Reviewing current systems and Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals Producing detailed specifications and writing the program codesSkills Required Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby Solid understanding of object-oriented programming Good understanding of server-side templating languages like Slim, etc Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as Sass, SCSS Good understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, Nodejs, and CSS3 Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system Able to create database schema's that represent and support business processes Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests Proficient understanding of code versioning tools e.g. Git Good understanding of REST and SOAP web services
