Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team in Chennai. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using Ruby on Rails. This is an on-site role and the successful candidate will be expected to work in our Chennai office.
Responsibilities
Designing & developing new web applications.
Maintaining existing Redmine based ROR code with API.
Maintaining and troubleshooting existing web applications.
Responsible for version upgrades.
Writing and maintaining reliable Ruby code.
Integrating data storage solutions.
Creating back-end components.
Identifying and fixing bottlenecks and bugs.
Integrating user-facing elements designed by the front-end team.
Driving continuous integration of relevant new technologies and upgrades into design
Connecting applications with additional web servers.
Maintaining APIs.
Following the best-established practices such as test-driven development, SCRUM, continuous
integration, refactoring and code standards
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
Experience working with ruby on rails as well as libraries like Resque and RSpec.
Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JQuery
Ability to rewrite clean ruby code.
Proficiency with code versioning tools including Git, Github, SVN, and Mercurial.
Familiarity with MVC, Mocking, RESTful, and ORM.
Knowledge of server-side templating languages including Slim and Liquid.
Familiarity with testing tools
