Rydges South Bank is a highly-regarded 4.5 star, award-winning hotel boasting 304 rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, and conferencing facilities. The hotel is located on Grey Street in South Bank neighbouring the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Groups Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Front Office or Reservations looking to take the next step into the commercial side of hotel operations. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of in-house group accommodation, from initial enquiry to post-stay reconciliation; ensuring a smooth, professional, and memorable experience for our clients and guests.
Working closely with the Sales and Operations teams, you will play a key role in driving group business, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the hotel’s revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all group accommodation enquiries, bookings, and communications with precision and efficiency.
Coordinate group blocks from contract stage through to final invoicing and account settlement.
Liaise with clients and internal departments to ensure group requirements and special requests are accurately actioned.
Prepare and maintain group manifests, rooming lists, and related documentation.
Work collaboratively with Sales and Operations to optimise occupancy and revenue opportunities.
Provide on-the-ground support during major group arrivals and peak check-in periods.
Handle guest or client issues promptly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room types, rates, packages, and hotel offerings to upsell effectively.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in Hotel Front Office or Reservations essential.
Working knowledge of Opera Cloud and iVvy (or similar PMS/CRM systems).
Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence.
