We are currently searching for On-Call Graphic Design/Print Shop Technician. The current on-call rate of pay is $27.84 plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
Qualifications:

Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of two years recognized technical training in the graphic arts field; minimum of three years of current experience in a print shop or similar environment; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict production deadlines; ability to operate equipment in the production of quality print material; proficient in desktop publishing using current industry standards such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite Software - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro; experience working with and preparing files and graphics for printing, web and e-mail; meets the physical requirements of the position including repetitive work in both standing and sitting positions and lifting of supplies up to 45 lbs; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Duties are performed under the supervision of the Associate Superintendent or designate; operates digital copy, scanners, risograph press, and related equipment to produce a wide variety of printed material; operates ancillary equipment such as laminators, electric paper cutter, paper drill, paper jogger, folder, and binders, as required; designs, creates and develops specialized graphic arts headings and layouts for various projects; prepares orders and maintains an inventory of various types of paper and supplies required for printing operation; performs minor maintenance to equipment of a routine nature and arranges for major servicing when required; acts as a back up in the absence of the Graphic Design/Print Shop Technician - Lead; estimates the cost and time to complete orders and meets production deadlines; adheres to requirements of copyright regulations; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
