Job Description

Safety Partner

Margate, Tasmania | Full-time

We love seafood, but we really love people. They are our heartbeat, and our communities are our heartland.

At Tassal, we’re united by our purpose of Sustainably Feeding Tomorrow. As Australia’s aquaculture leader and leading seafood brand, we are continuing to invest in our people, our operations, and our safety culture.

This is an exciting time to join our Safety team as we continue to embed and evolve our safety transformation across the business.

About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Safety, this role partners closely with site leaders to strengthen safety capability, embed effective risk management practices, and drive a proactive, interdependent safety culture.

This is a dual-site role, supporting both our Marine Operations team within the Southern Zone in Dover, as well as our Processing operations based in Margate. Our Safety Partner will be required to work across both sites, partnering closely with leaders and teams to support safe, effective and consistent operations across both marine and land-based environments. Given the importance of the Southern Zone, regular travel between sites is a core part of the role, with time expected to be balanced across both locations in line with operational priorities. A company vehicle (tool of trade) will be provided to support travel between sites.

Tassal is currently on a defined safety transformation journey, with strong executive commitment and ongoing investment in capability, systems and culture. This role will play a key part in supporting that transformation, working closely with leaders to uplift safety maturity and embed sustainable, long-term change across the business.

Coach and influence teams to identify, manage and reduce risk

Support the delivery of safety programs and initiatives aligned to our transformation journey

Support compliance with safety legislation and internal standards

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys being on site, working closely with leaders, and making a genuine impact on safety culture.

You will bring:

Strong stakeholder engagement and coaching capability

The ability to interpret legislation and apply it in a practical, commercial way

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

Diploma in Health & Safety (or equivalent)
