Overview

The Sales & Event Manager plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and supporting the planning and execution of the OccuNet Classic, held annually at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas. This role focuses on sponsorship sales, marketing and social media strategy, and seamless event operations. Reporting directly to the Tournament Director, the Sales & Event Manager serves as a key contributor to the tournament’s success and visibility, both locally and regionally.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in sales, marketing, and event management—preferably in the sports, media, or hospitality industries. This individual must be a self-starter who thrives in high-pressure environments, communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders, and takes full ownership of projects from conception through execution.

Key Responsibilities

Sales:

Lead sales efforts focused on Pro-Am entries, hospitality packages, and sponsorship programs across the Texas Panhandle and surrounding regions

Actively prospect and qualify new leads using platforms like LinkedIn and ZoomInfo

Develop compelling sales presentations and marketing collateral using tools such as Digideck, PowerPoint, and Word

Support all phases of the sales cycle including proposal development, contracting, invoicing, and post-sale relationship management

Collaborate with the Tournament Team to maintain accurate revenue tracking in CRM and Excel-based reports

Coordinate sponsor deliverables including hospitality access, branding, tickets, pro-am participation, and event activations

Maintain year-round communication and relationship management with sponsors

Partner with senior leadership and the Tournament Director to establish and execute annual revenue goals, with a minimum growth target of 10% year-over-year

Foster connections with chambers of commerce, tourism boards, and key community organizations and partners

Liaise with PGA TOUR HQ on sales strategy, reporting, and best practices

Assist in the creation and monetization of new sponsorship inventory and event products

Marketing & Social Media:

Work with internal and external teams to produce sales decks, marketing materials, and digital content

Support sponsor social media integration and engagement strategies

Develop and implement marketing plans that align with sponsorship objectives and drive audience growth

Monitor and analyze campaign performance using analytics tools

Event Operations:

Oversee the planning and execution of pro-ams and sponsor activations

Manage ticketing, credentialing, and on-site distribution processes

Use project management tools such as Asana to maintain timelines and task accountability

Contribute to the planning and execution of community events, charitable initiatives, and volunteer recruitment

Key Success Metrics

Achievement of annual revenue and profitability targets

High retention and satisfaction rates among sponsors and tournament partners

Growth in social media engagement and event visibility

Successful execution of sponsorship activations and promotional efforts

Efficient and well-coordinated event operations with seamless execution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales

Understanding and capacity to master and utilize CRM software

Proven track record, with the majority of experience in the sports and/or events industry

Experience managing marketing campaigns, social media, and sponsorship activations

Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and event planning tools (e.g., Asana)

Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Willingness to travel to support other Framework Events and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Located in or willing to relocate to Amarillo, Texas
