Job Overview
Arras Events is in search of a passionate hospitality professional to lead our sales and events department. We are a budding event venue with ample amenities and opportunity looking for someone to join the team to take charge of planning and executing extraordinary experiences. Arras Events is a multi floor events venue 5 minutes from downtown with panoramic views of Vancouver. Arras is located in a beautiful new building adorned with marble. The thoughtful design is an elegant blank canvas for creating a wide variety of memorable occasions for 10 to 500 guests. We are a one-of-a-kind venue with incredible potential for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion while managing all aspects of the event process.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements, providing expert advice on venue selection, catering options, and decor.
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
Responsible for maintaining an enticing banquet and events package with current food and beverage menus and captivating photo assets.
Collaborate with the Director to establish targets, forecasts and budgets. Report on sales and targets.
Inspire future leaders through action and coaching. Provide empathy, accountability and structure.
Assist marketing team on developing and executing marketing strategies.
Collate feedback and share with the leadership team with strategy for improvement.
Research market and industry for specialty products, current trends and new event ideas.
Upsell additional services or products to enhance the guest experience while maximizing revenue.
Coordinate logistics including transportation, accommodations, audio/visual needs, and on-site management.
Supervise event staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations during events.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms.
Provide outstanding guest services before, during, and after events to ensure client satisfaction.
Experience
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Proven experience in event management or a related field within the hospitality industry is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Experience in budgeting and financial management related to event planning.
Familiarity with marketing strategies to promote events effectively.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Previous experience in restaurant or hotel setting is required.
A proactive and results-oriented approach is an asset.
Experience with Triple Seat, Optimum Control, Clover an asset.
