Candidate with experience of Theory of Constraints (TOC) will be preffered

Job Location: Airoli Mumbai

Purpose of the job

Enable achievement of targeted levels of Availability (for level based items) and Reliability (for time based items) across the complete supply chain through effective planning (setting up of quantity/time buffers), execution: monitoring and control (buffer management), alignment of every link of the supply chain, and Process Of On Going Improvement.

Champion the concepts of flow management across all processes by ensuring that the philosophy and principles are embedded through the entire supply chain.

Responsibilities

● Focus on:

1. Improving flow (or equivalently lead time) as the primary objective of operations.

2. Translating this primary objective into a practical mechanism that guides the operations when not to produce (prevents overproduction).

3. Abolishing local efficiencies.

4. Instituting a focusing process to balance flow.

● Guardianship of all existing / revised processes

● Custodianship of plant capacity and lead time information, buffer sizing and dynamic buffer management processes

● Ensure seamless coordination between sales and marketing, design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing and despatch to drive supply chain alignment with customer demand; in short, manage the flow through effective planning and focused execution from the point of order booking to supply of goods and services to the clients

● Provide Operations support to establish and maintain load control and protective capacity at constraint workstations enabling the elusive balance between optimal inventory and superior due date performance

● Establish and maintain an effective interface between Central Planning and Sales and Marketing to drive efficient Sales and Operations Planning

● POOGI in Operations and Supply Chain

● Identify potential risks i.e. supply disruptions, system and process weakness/ indiscipline, resource constraints etc. and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies

● Participate in central planning meetings with other business unit members to maintain high level of customer service and integrity of the plan; proactively react to and communicate schedule/ priority changes.

● Ensure that the risk procedure is followed and that all risks and opportunities are identified

● Establish activity-based controls enabled through pre-identified triggers and checkpoints

● Highlight potential problems, overloads or under-utilization of constrained resources using systems capacity planning information

● Ensure effective tracking systems are in place that give real time status of schedule and cost performance versus plan

● Understand fluctuations in the volume and mix that is emerging from the market data and factor the same into the central planning process
