Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team in a temporary part-time position for Saturday and Sunday, as well as other possible weekdays as required. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Duties
Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
Conduct product demonstrations and discuss features and benefits effectively.
Accurately compute fabric requirements and cut fabric using cutting tools provided.
Maintain knowledge of current promotions, product features, and store policies.
Process transactions accurately, including cash handling.
Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during shifts.
Maintain an organized and clean sales floor to enhance the shopping experience.
Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries via phone.
Successful Candidate Must Possess:
Quilting expertise. Customers will expect knowledge or at a minimum, the willingness to obtain the answer to their questions.
The ability to correctly read a ruler in imperial and metric and the ability to learn to calculate in both systems.
Excellent computational math ability.
Problem-solving skills.
The ability to work in a busy, public position, often juggling multiple demands, and making instant priority decisions.
A non-hesitant approach to customers with a friendly manner.
A willingness to share job tasks in a team environment. Tasks are often tedious and repetitive and will include cleaning.
Ability and willingness to following processes and procedures of the job.
Accuracy and an ease and comfort in handling payment transactions.
Keyboarding skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment working in Word, Excel, and internet browsers.
The ability to work on your feet for most of the day, with physical requirements of lifting, carrying, and bending.
A willingness to learn the fabric collections and their placement in the store.
Ability to highlight key features and benefits of sewing products.
Excellent sales skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and relationship building.
Exceptional organizational skills to maintain inventory and store displays efficiently.
Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are advantageous.
Strong phone etiquette for effective communication with customers over the phone.
