Job Description
:Agri-commodity Manager deal mainly with futures contracts.
:These contracts outline the quantity, future delivery time and delivery location for a specific commodity purchase at a price set when the agreement is made.
:Some of their clients trade as speculators, betting on price increases, while others hedge against price drops.
:Like merchandiser traders, brokers stay current with market conditions to identify opportunities and maintain strong customer relations.
:Unlike them brokers work for brokerage houses and investment banks. Some brokers work on the floor of an exchange where they execute buy and sell orders.
: Monitor on market trends, factors, and conditions that affect related commodities (e.g. weather conditions and foreign exchange rates) and form operation strategy in relation to positions, pricing, and marketing.
: Provide daily Cost & Freight (CNF) prices to direct customers and sales channels of the assigned markets to engage on sales activities.
: Engaged in material discussion, such as price discovery, tender lineups, negotiate and resolve issues with customers.
: Conduct trade initiation processes (such as maintaining supplier and/or client relationships, negotiating price/sales terms, overseeing logistics arrangements, and recording cost of transactions) based on applicable procedures.
: Prepare reports of respective purchases and sales, trade activities, such as trade recap on trade execution conducted the day before, daily broker statement, and ensure Futures exposure are managed.
: Timely communication and coordination with team and relevant parties to ensure information and trade opportunities of assigned market is shared and captured.
: Respective markets and sales channels to prepare summary report on trade activities, logistics and execution progress, and anticipate movement of buyers and the market
: Prepare monthly P&L report – trade, P&L purchase and sales recap for management and all related parties when required.
: Share knowledge and experience and develop junior members in the team.
: Additional projects assigned when deem appropriate
:Building solid relationships with customers, vendors and distributors, as well as sales and marketing teams.
:Developing in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
:Directing marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and suggesting strategies to expand market research.
:Assessing marketing and sales as well as supplier and vendor operations and recommending improvements as needed.
:Preparing all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
:Researching emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to satisfy customers’ needs.
:Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business.
:Presenting business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.
:Selecting automation software and software platforms that best meet company needs.
:Studying the market in the target country or countries
:identifying new markets for exports and developing new business accounts
:planning a sales campaign suited to that country and current consumer trends
