The company is currently transitioning from reliance on third-party platforms to developing and scaling its own proprietary software solutions. Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and supporting Payaz’s transition into a SaaS-led business. The role will focus on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities, with particular emphasis on scalable software solutions and long-term client relationships.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities across priority sectors, including SMEs and the charity/third sector
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to support revenue growth and long-term SaaS adoption
Deliver engaging product demonstrations and clearly communicate the value of Payaz’s software solutions
Convert leads into customers, with a focus on recurring revenue through SaaS offerings
Support the company’s transition to a software-led business by promoting proprietary platforms over third-party solutions
Conduct market research to identify new customer segments, partnerships, and growth opportunities
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor
Understand customer needs and tailor solutions to maximise value and retention
Support onboarding of new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and positive customer experience
Work collaboratively with the team to generate leads and refine messaging based on customer insights
Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform business strategy
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactions within CRM systems
Prepare and present regular updates to senior management on business development progress
Represent the company at networking events, meetings, and industry engagements where required
Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes, tools, and approaches in line with company growth ambitions

Essential Criteria
Experience
Proven experience in a sales or business development
Demonstrated ability to generate and convert new business opportunities
Experience managing a sales pipeline and meeting revenue targets
Strong experience in B2B sales environments

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities
Ability to build relationships quickly and influence decision-makers

Based in or willing to commute to Belfast (office-based initially)
Willingness to travel for client meetings if required
Full UK driving licence
Pay: £24,420.00-£35,000.00 per year
