Job Profile:
The Sales Engineer/Executive will be responsible for promoting and selling fire suppression products, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of fire suppression systems and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
• Identify and prospect potential customers in various sectors, such as industrial, commercial, residential, and government markets.
• Generate new business by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and closing sales deals.
• Promote and sell a range of fire suppression products, including fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and related accessories.
• Customer Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding the client's needs and offering tailored solutions.
• Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues related to product performance or delivery.
Product Knowledge & Training:
• Stay informed about the latest fire suppression technologies and industry trends.
• Attend product training and workshops to enhance technical knowledge about fire safety products and systems.
• Educate customers about the benefits of different products and solutions, including their compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the marketing and engineering teams to develop effective sales strategies and product campaigns.
• Provide feedback on market trends and customer preferences to guide product development and innovation.
• Market Research:
• Conduct competitor analysis to stay competitive in pricing, features, and overall customer satisfaction.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product compliance with local and international fire safety standards.
Sales Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline status.
• Provide regular sales reports to management, outlining sales performance, forecasts, and areas for improvement.
• Exhibit Fire Suppression Products:
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to showcase fire suppression solutions.
• Conduct on-site presentations and demonstrations for potential customers
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Technical or Engineering degree may be preferred, especially if the role involves dealing with technical specifications of fire suppression products.
• Experience:
• At least 2-5 years of experience in sales, with a preference for candidates who have worked in safety equipment, fire protection, HVAC, or industrial product sales.
• Previous experience in the fire suppression systems industry or safety product sales will be an advantage.
• A proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing customer accounts.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with a diverse customer base, including technical teams, contractors, and business owners.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fire safety standards, fire suppression systems, and related equipment
• Sales Skills: Ability to identify customer needs, present solutions effectively, and close deals.
• Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate pricing and terms with clients while maintaining company profitability.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to assess customer issues and offer technical solutions.
• Relationship Management: Ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with customers, partners, and industry professionals.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
• Fire Protection Certification: Knowledge of fire suppression systems (NFPA, FM Global, UL listed systems) is a plus.
• Sales Certifications: Certification in sales methodologies like SPIN Selling or Challenger Sales can be beneficial.
• Technical Training: Training in specific fire suppression product lines or systems would be a plus.
Other Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License: The role may require travel to client sites, trade shows, or events.
• Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel to potential customer locations and industry events (may include local, regional, or international travel depending on the company’s client base).
