The CarbonSmartTM Sales Manager will have a key role in growing the business in India, through identifying and developing new opportunities, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers across a broad range of industries including fragrances, personal care, home care, textiles, and packaging. This role will contribute to accelerating the commercialization of LanzaTech products in the Indian market.CarbonSmartTM products are low carbon footprint materials that are produced via LanzaTech's proprietary gas fermentation process which utilizes recycled carbon emissions as the feedstock for new and more sustainable materials.The CarbonSmartTM Sales Manager will be able to clearly communicate CarbonSmartTM products unique value proposition to support customers in achieving their sustainability ambitions. This role will work with value chain partners to deliver a diverse portfolio of CarbonSmartTM products to customers across diverse industries. This role is accountable for delivering on forecasted sales revenue and gross margin targets. In this role, the CarbonSmartTM Sales Manager will execute on commercial project opportunities, working closely with the local and global based Sales Support personnel, Logistics, Quality, and Legal groups.The successful candidate must have strong business development/sales skills and strategic insight paired with technical understanding, ideally with experience in chemical, biofuel, or consumer goods sectors.The successful candidate will be expected to be a high-energy, creative, highly analytical and resourceful self-starter with demonstrated strategic marketing skills, strong communications skills, and a commitment to excellence.Key DutiesManage day-to-day relationships with customers and develop a deep understanding of their requirements and long-term business strategiesGenerate new business opportunities to achieve sales and profit targetsNegotiate contracts with customers to deliver on sales and profit targetsMaintain good contacts with prospective clients and develop/grow strong relationships in industryDevelop and implement sales plan to deliver on commercial targets and grow the business, including development of pricing strategies across market segmentsForecast and report on key metrics to commercial management teamConduct fact-based analysis of market trends; competitive data; technology advancements; and customer needs assessment to optimize current business and drive new business developmentUnderstand customer sustainability needs and propose solutions to enable customers to achieve sustainability targetsWork with value chain partners to deliver innovative sustainable solutions for strategic customersUpdate and report on customer engagements utilizing customer relationship management systems (i.e. Salesforce)Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, engineering, science, marketing; preferred degree in chemical engineeringMBA or graduate degree is a plus5+ years of prior experience in Sales, Key Account Management, and/or Business DevelopmentPrior technical experience in new product development and launchGlobal experienceExperience in the personal care, home care, pharmaceutical and/or biofuels industries with roles in sales, strategic marketing and/or developmentMust have strong analytical and communication skillsProven project management and leadership skillsProven ability to work with senior leaders and across functionsTravel about 30%----Learn more about usby visitingwww.lanzatech.com/news/and take a look at some recent coverage:Selected by the US Department of Energy to receive a $200 million investmentFeatured on abc7 Chicago News with Mark RiveraTIME100's Most Influential CompaniesFast Company's Most Innovative CompaniesForbes: Synthetic biology gets the Gucci treatmentFind us on social media:LinkedIn,Twitter&InstagramThis position is open to candidates authorized to work in India on a full-time basis for any employer.
