SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As the Sales Region Manager, you will oversee the sales activities of cutting tools in your assigned territory. Working under the direction of the Regional Manager, you will ensure our customers receive exceptional product quality, unparalleled service, and expert support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with distributors and significant manufacturing accounts to promote and support standard catalog and engineered special cutting tool products.
• Utilize your product knowledge to meet customer needs, resolve technical inquiries, and suggest tailored solutions to maximize sales potential.
• Establish and maintain centers of excellence to promote our products effectively.
• Analyze competitor products and report their strengths and weaknesses to management.
• Stay updated on new products and industry information to identify competitive activities and nurture new distributor accounts.
• Focus efforts on the top manufacturers representing 80% of total sales potential in your region.
• Engage with the top 20 end users in your sales territory at least once a month.
• Participate in at least two sales planning meetings with each authorized distributor annually.
• Build strong relationships with distributor owners or presidents and maintain regular contacts.
• Set clear goals and take strategic steps toward achieving them.
• Continuously enhance your product knowledge and technical skills.
• Document cost savings from our products and provide reports to both end users and distributors.
• Provide training and education for both inside and outside distributor sales teams to promote our products effectively.
• Dedicate 80% of selling time to engaging end users directly to drive sales through distribution channels while fostering partnerships.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Preferred experience in a similar market and industry.
• Minimum of three years of field experience demonstrating problem-solving skills and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to manage extensive territories with diverse product lines.
• Proven ability to stay informed about new technologies and distributor needs.
• Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Capacity to build and sustain relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Exhibit a proactive 'customer service' mindset in all interactions.
