Job Description
The role involves preparing various reports, coordinating and follow-up with the sales team, managing CRM, handling vendors, lead generation, handling trade agreements, checking metadata of all titles on Klopteck software, handling special projects, and doing research work. We are looking for a dynamic young, proactive individual who will support the sales and marketing team to manage and grow the business.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Trade and IS Sales: Work closely with the sales and marketing team to understand the business goals and gather necessary information. Maintain dashboards of the sales pipeline regarding the progress of the business as per the budgets/targets. Reports are to be prepared by the region, by rep, by product, and by the customer. Sales rep visit plans versus deviations, Sales manager’s travel plans, and their coverage must be monitored, and prepare a proper report of the coverage outcome. Sample stock with STNs to be monitored and given a report on how sales happened via these approvals.
2. Monitor sales of books on Cloudtail and other online platforms and suggest the variations to the Marketing Head for better campaigns
3. CRM: The integral part of the sales and marketing function and the candidate would be handling the admin role. Provide technical support to the users and also in charge of all the master data. Need to coordinate with the vendor for all troubleshooting and upgradation and most important monitor the usage by the team. Generate reports from the CRM and derive business analysis for each report.
4. Klopotek: Check the metadata of all the titles if they are correct or not and then update any missing information that is required with the help of publishing and marketing. Need to work on the VitalSource data and ensure that all the feeds are correct in the system before the title is uploaded on Vitalsource
5. Lead generation and monitoring: The candidate will work closely with the marketing team for all lead generation campaigns for all the products, mainly for electronic journals and databases, and maintain data and leads that are generated. These are further followed with the customers for individual orders and for institutional sales, with the sales team. The leads will also cover the individual reference titles and measure the sales on Thieme.in webshop
6. Market research and Lead Generation for JBJS, Area+ and EIDO – the candidate will be responsible for searching the internet, websites, and LinkedIn for suitable contacts for the mentioned products and open initial dialogues and send product information. Once leads are generated they are then passed on to the respective sales heads for further action.
7. Trade agreements: Follow up with the sales team and maintain records for Distributor agreements and other amendments. The invoices are collated by the month and remind the sales team for payments of overdue amounts as per the credit period, also the follow-up with the customers as and when required via emails and phone calls.
8. Sales and marketing Meetings: The candidate will have to attend all the sales meetings both on-site and off-site and prepare the minutes of the meeting with all the action points duly circulate to the participants. Provide assistance in formatting the presentations of the team and check for consistency.
+. Special Projects/Market Research: The candidate will need to work independently on certain projects assigned by the HOD. These would mostly be on the testing of the market viability of Thieme products and services. Incubation of new business ideas etc.
10. TPD journal dispatches as and when required and maintains data of the members of the societies
Required Background & skills:
1. Experience of 2-4 years in managing day-to-day operations of sales and marketing teams.
2. Expert at preparing reports for management, analytical skills
3. Proficiency in MS Excel, (ability to work with Pivots, functions, and formulae); Powerpoint and word
4. A graduate from a reputed university
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good command of the English language
6. Experience in marketing is an added advantage
7. Experience with any kind of CRM software a plus any ERP tools
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize daily workload and complete tasks independently
