The Role
ALS Water is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Sample Receipt and Dispatch Coordinator to lead the day-to-day coordination of sample receipt, registration, storage and dispatch activities within the laboratory.
This role is responsible for ensuring samples are processed in a timely manner, urgent priorities are managed effectively, and high standards are maintained across communication, quality, safety and service delivery.
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this opportunity will also have direct responsibility for a great team of Sample Receipt Officers.
This is a permanent role; Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
The day to Day
Coordinating the timely registration of samples and allocation of batch numbers.
Ensuring Senior Chemists and Section Team Leaders are informed of urgent samples or unusual issues.
Organising freight receipt and dispatch for bottle orders and samples.
Liaising with clients, couriers, third-party laboratories and other ALS laboratories regarding sample conditions, paperwork ambiguities and customer requirements.
Preparing sample receipt advice forms and updating relevant paperwork, including customer changes to chain-of-custody documentation after appropriate internal communication.
Scanning and distributing original COC documentation and related information promptly.
Preparing samples, including sub-sampling and compositing as directed by customers or Customer Service.
Ensuring samples are stored correctly and special customer or project requirements are met. Source:
Coordinating bottle and esky orders for new and existing clients, ensuring sufficient stock is prepared and quality checked.
Maintaining procedures, JSEAs, and staff training records, and conducting annual PMRs.
