About you and this role - What you would do in this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a SAP BW Sr. Developer on the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) Data Platform team. This position is open for Mumbai, India. The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees to work remotely but will also require onsite work one week per month and as required based on project work and role needs.
As the BW Senior Developer, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale, complex data warehouse (HANA) and data integration processes and technologies to help Dow's businesses and functions achieve their objectives and accelerate Dow's digital transformation.
As a BW Senior Developer, you are someone who can get things done on your own without supervision and without creating any issues down the road. You are technically mature, having gained experience by delivering both good and bad software in the past and have learned from it — you know how to be pragmatic. You are able to communicate well with teammates, teach others, etc. and are starting to lead projects and assisting more junior developers with task-related or troubleshooting problems.
Using your SAP BW and SAP HANA conceptual and practical knowledge, you will be responsible for a small portfolio of solutions, managing the lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation/adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement) of digital solutions, while delivering advanced functional and business capabilities.
Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role.
Your Responsibilities will see you working hand-in-hand with a global, multi-disciplinary IT team to:
Deliver innovative digital solutions.
Gather and analyze data to perform a functional and technical requirements analysis – with emphasis on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, and reliability.
Oversee the development, optimization, implementation, support, and adoption of solutions leveraging best-in-class mobile, web, desktop, cloud technologies.
Identify opportunities for innovating with digital capabilities aiming to accelerate Dow’s digital transformation.
End-to-End Integration – Coordinates with other Specialists for end-to-end process optimization and integration.
Qualifications – Required education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).
At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
A minimum of 4 years delivering solutions with SAP BW - BW 7.5 on HANA V2.0
A minimum of 2 years delivering solutions with native HANA V2.0 (including SLT, SDA)
Preferred Skills – An expanded list of qualifications that are “nice to have”, but not essential.
A degree discipline in IT, Computer Science, or other Engineering Disciplines
Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 on DB2 is a plus
Integration experience SAP BODS is a plus
Familiarity with Agile Methodology and Design thinking is a plus
