Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SAT Tutor/Teacher (part-time) to support students in achieving their academic goals with SAT EBRW. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching skills, experience working with diverse learners, and a passion for education. Prior experience is a plus. The candidate hired for this position will be expected to create a student-centered, supportive instructional environment that helps students strengthen their academic skills, test-taking strategies, and confidence.
Hours:
Mondays and/or Wednesdays between 3:30–5:30 PM for 6 to 8 weeks. Days and hours will be finalized based on the tutor’s availability and student demand. Sessions may be held on one or both days, depending on the number of students enrolled in the program. We are seeking candidates who are interested in continuing beyond this initial timeframe.
Duties
Deliver engaging and effective SAT preparation sessions tailored to individual student needs
Utilize various learning technologies to enhance instruction and student engagement
Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Provide clear explanations of writing, and critical reading concepts tested on the SAT
Manage classroom or virtual learning environments effectively, ensuring a positive learning experience
Support students in developing test-taking strategies and time management skills
Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate progress to parents or guardians when appropriate
Collaborate with other educators to improve instructional materials and methods
Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, especially in writing, or test preparation
Strong knowledge of the SAT exam structure, content, and scoring methods
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to motivate students
Experience with classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
Prior classroom experience or tutoring experience working with high school or college-bound students is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week
