This role sits within Core Systems Tech area under Australia Retail & Commercial Division. Core Systems is a conglomerate of mainframe applications that run ANZ's Customer, Deposits, Lending, Transaction and Card Systems for Retail and Commercial Businesses. Servicing multiple business units and tribes across ANZ, we run mission critical applications for the bank that process thousands of transactions per second in real time and this brings serious challenges to solve and engineer. The services we build underpin most parts of the bank and we are reinventing the way we enable integration for our service for consumption by the rest of the bank.This is a key leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for building, evolving and supporting a modern integration capability for Core Banking systems on Mainframe. The role involves managing and working across a wide range of technologies including infrastructure and configuration as code tools, service mesh, CI/CD and observability tools. This is a role for an experienced technologist and involves both people and technical leadership.About You-Lead and mentor Platform Engineering squad for Integration Modernisation, to pursue its mission to design, develop and enhance API (REST, MQ etc) integration and event driven architecture (CDC, Kafka etc.) for Core Banking applications.-You will take full responsibility for the life cycle of the integration capability from inception through to development, continuous improvement and support.-Design and implement secure, simple and impactful solutions with a laser focus on automation and DevOps engineering techniques-Constantly prioritise tasks and the squads backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making.-Engage, prioritise and co-ordinate the timing and scope of work across multiple dependent teams.-Work at a senior level, collaborating with architects, engineers, and operations experts across multiple domains-Facilitate rapid decision making for the team-Shape how ANZ delivers on its commitment to provide great customer service through technology-Provide out of hours support as and when requiredWhat will you bring?We look first and foremost for people who are passionate and have an obsession to solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. We embrace a culture of experimentation and constantly strive for improvement and learning.- Deep expertise in Core Banking Hogan and Mainframe technologies- Experience developing and operating REST API services using z/OS Connect- Hands-on experience in CDC (Change Data Capture) technologies on mainframe and the likes of Kafka- Strong knowledge on Scalability, Security, Logging, Auditing, Policy Management and Performance Monitoring for end-to-end process execution- Passionate and have an obsession to solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices- Ability to galvanise a diverse group of people around a common mission- Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making- Proven ability to innovate and adapt to latest development
