About the Position:
As the SBA Sales Specialist, Intake, you will work closely with the assigned Business Development Officer (BDO) and clients to effectively develop and onboard new loan opportunities. With an emphasis in performing the initial intake function, you will assist new customers with initial application requirements while ensuring eligibility requirements align with SBA guidelines.
What You Will Do:
• Partner with an assigned SBA BDO team to collect application items and construct submission packages for SBA Operations
• Work with assigned SBA BDO team to identify and qualify SBA loan opportunities to ensure they meet the SBA guidelines
• Capital access (E-Tran) to obtain Small Business Scoring Service (SBSS) scores for loan under $500,000 in size
• Apply knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to evaluate loan
applications for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility
• Aide in the assembly of complete and accurate loan package to underwriting, including all required documents in accordance with policies and procedures
• Manage various processes, including but not limited to the following: flood certifications, business and personal credit reports, 8821 Tax Transcripts, and obtain pertinent due diligence documentation
• Perform daily review of the good faith deposit report and respond to SBA Servicing and Accounting teams accordingly
• Apply ethical principles and standards to accomplishing work and remain current on organizational policies and procedures
• Foster new and expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling products
and services such as lines of credit, checking accounts and more as applicable
• Assist in business development at the direction of the BDO, such as:
• Contacting existing client base to review current relationships or to seek referrals
• Attending trade shows to network and promote First Internet Bank's products
• Perform administrative support duties to assist the BDO, such as:
• Meeting and conference planning and travel arrangements as needed
• Preparing proposals, reviews, and routine correspondence
• Answering phones and returning messages for assigned BDO
• Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
• Previous experience with processing or closing consumer, mortgage or commercial loans preferred
• Previous SBA Loan experience in a closing, processing or packaging role is highly preferred
• Understanding and previous experience with the SBA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) highly preferred
• Excellent computer skills, including navigating new systems and an understanding of how various systems interact with each other
• Previous experience working with nCino highly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management and organization skills
Working Conditions/Demands:
• Professional office setting.
• Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
• Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
