Overview
SCA Telecommunications Mechanic I (MNTHM-2026XXXXXX)
Bowhead seeks to net work with anTelecommunications Mechanic I for an upcoming proposal effort. This contract will provide BTS support for the Davis-Mothan AFB in Arizona.
Responsibilities
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Assists in maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.
• Performs cable management, cross-connect installations, and minor troubleshooting tasks.
• Supports higher-level technicians in fault isolation and system performance testing.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Must be trained and possess necessary certifications and licenses for Base Telecommunications System (BTS) operations and maintenance services
• Must be capable of working in manhole systems (confined spaces).
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure and work order processes.
• Ability to perform cable inspections and conduct basic maintenance under supervision.
• Requires a favorably completed NACI investigation.
• Personnel working in Air Force-controlled/restricted areas must be trained under AFI 31-101, Integrated Defense.
• Contractors must comply with DoD Instruction 8570.01 Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification.
• Employees may be required to undergo additional background checks for restricted area access.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
• Regularly works in confined spaces, including manholes and handholes.
• Requires physical stamina for lifting and cable management tasks.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
