If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a School Focused Youth Services Coordinator.

Yarra Ranges Council, in partnership with the Department of Education and Training (DE&T), is committed to supporting young people aged 10-18 years who are at risk of disengagement from education. As the School Focused Youth Services Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with schools and community organisations to provide targeted support and interventions that support students to remain connected to education.

In this role, you will:

Coordinate and implement the School Focused Youth Services program, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
Oversee governance and compliance aspects of the program, ensuring all activities adhere to relevant guidelines and regulations.
Plan and monitor evidence based activities to ensure effective delivery of support services to achieve desired outcomes.
Build capacity within schools and community organisations by delivering training, workshops, and guidance on best practices for supporting vulnerable students.
Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to enhance support networks for young people at risk of disengagement.
Identify and engage with students who are showing signs of disengagement from education.

Relevant qualifications and experience in youth work, education, social work, or a related field.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people and the factors that contribute to disengagement from education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with young people, schools, and community organizations.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and implement youth-focused programs or initiatives.
Sound knowledge of governance, compliance, and accountability frameworks within the education sector.
A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people and a commitment to their well-being and educational success.

Temporary Part Time position until August 2026 (parental leave backfill) (22.8 hours per week).
Salary from $47.07 (Band 6) per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation.
