Responsibilities:
• Assist classroom teachers with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students.
• Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to meet the educational and social needs of students.
• Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Alabama-specific paraprofessional requirements include:
• Completion of at least 48 semester hours at an institution of higher education, or
• An associate's degree (or higher), or
• Successful completion of the ACT WorkKeys Assessment, demonstrating proficiency in applied mathematics, reading for information, and writing.
• At least one year of experience working as a paraprofessional or in a related educational setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
