Our Young People
Young people come from diverse backgrounds and often face a significant and complex range of educational, social, developmental, environmental, psychological, health, legal barriers to learning which require unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation By Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.

Our Team
Opened in 2024, our Ballarat campus is located in a beautifully restored historic school building. With specialist spaces for music, art, and woodwork, it supports up to 120 young people in a welcoming and creative environment. Many are seeking a calm, personalised learning space after experiencing challenges in mainstream education.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced School Psychologist to join our Ballarat Campus to play a vital role in supporting the young person’s academic, social, and emotional development by identifying and addressing challenges early. This position involves conducting initial screenings and assessments to uncover learning or behavioural concerns and referring the young person to specialised support services as needed.

A key aspect of the role is building staff capability through training programs that enhance understanding of conditions impacting learning, in consultation with the Learning and Capability Manager within People and Culture and Governance, Risk and Compliance Team.

This includes ensuring compliance with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) framework and equipping staff to meet diverse young person’s needs. The role also entails planning and implementing evidence-based interventions at individual, group, and school levels, fostering the young person’s success. Partnerships are integral, requiring collaboration with families, teachers, mental health professionals, and community organisations to provide holistic support. This role underscores the school’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and the wellbeing of every young person.

You will be employed on a Full time ongoing basis, commencing as soon as possible, and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.

Full time ideal but part time (0.8 FTE) may be considered for the right candidate

Classification for the role is a Category A ESS, offering a salary range of $105,000 to $118,000 (depending on education and experience).

You will need

Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty
Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check certificate
A minimum of 3–5 years experience working as a registered psychologist, ideally within an educational or child/youth mental health setting
Experience supporting children and adolescents across a range of developmental, behavioural, and wellbeing needs.
Strong skills and knowledge to perform educational and clinical assessments for ADHD and Autism.
Strong Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with a range of people
Experience in supporting young people with disability and/or neurodivergence
The ability to inspire and engage young people with learning activities
Be willing to support young people and our team members to reach their potential
