A Science Technician is required for a part time role in an excellent Secondary school in Morpeth. This part time role is from 10.00am - 14.00pm Monday to Friday and ongoing. You will have a Chemistry degree ideally, but any Science degree would be considered.
You will be required to:
Provide practical support for the Science Department by preparing and organising laboratory equipment, materials and experiments.
Maintain laboratory supplies.
Ensure equipment and apparatus are kept in a clean and tidy order.
Assist teachers during practical sessions and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment for students.
Monitor condition / cleanliness of the Science classrooms and to report problems / faults.
Liaise with members of the department, as and when required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties necessary to the efficient functioning of the department.
Relevant experience in science or laboratory work would be beneficial as well as being familiar with scientific equipment and materials used in secondary schools.
