Job Description
Business
• Awareness and understanding of the CPBB business objectives.
Processes
• Facilitate and coach the processes of work decomposition, backlog management and dependency management between Teams (Squads) and other units of the organisation.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of safety, collaboration, trust through facilitation of retrospectives and fostering an honest feedback culture among members.
• Ensure adherence and continuous improvement of Agile practices, coaches and teaches new techniques to the Team as needed to achieve optimum productivity.
• Manage the processes of decomposition and task estimation, finding dependencies with other Squads and updating backlog in the production system.
• Support the Product Owner to ensure that objectives and key results, scope, and product domain are understood by Team (Squad) members.
• Support the Product Owner in breaking down work to maximize and optimize the business value delivered by Team (Squad) members.
• Scrum Master will have the overall responsibility for the delivery of the project, from the time the Project is assigned in BoW.
• Support the Product Owner in finding and implementing newer and emerging backlog management techniques.
• Help in defining, reporting and meeting (by removing impediments) Team (Squad) objectives and key results.
• Facilitate progress tracking and visualisation of work using Agile metrics and tools e.g. burndown charts.
• Remove obstacles and impediments to the Team s (Squads) progress, and escalates as required.
• Work closely with Agile practitioners and DevOps to ensure optimise CICD implementation.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies e.g. Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Retrospective.
• Supports the Team (Squad) by coordinating with other Squads and 3rd parties.
• Run Scrum of Scrums on distributed teams.

• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
• Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
• Responsibility to review team structure / capacity plans.
• Work in collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
• Require High interpersonal and Negotiation skills.
Risk Management
The ability to interpret and identify key risks issues in system and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
• Monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and / or ensure adequate reporting to Risk Committees.
Governance
• Responsible to deliver in accordance to T&I policies and ensure governance of the team s adherence to the same.
• Responsible to ensure Risks and Issues are raised with appropriate action plans and remediated on time.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. • CPBB T&I Domain heads, Product Owner, Tribe and Chapter Leads and Squad members, Country Businesses and CTM, Interface T&I teams, Process and Business owners, Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance teams, T&I governance
Other Responsibilities
• Chapter Lead for Scrum Master.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation initiative owner.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant.
• 8 - 10 years of experience with a proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects, with a 5 years of experience serving in a scrum master role leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced services environment.
• Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master (CSP-SM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master (CSP-SM).
• Experience leading 6 member team, with direct responsibility for tracking and reporting on key metrics.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well under pressure to manage competing demands.
• Knowledge or retail Banking domain, Microservices, Java, Cloud technologies like AWS desired.
• Banking or financial experience an advantage.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
• JUnit4, at least one assertion library, unit test, integration test, pen test and stress and load test, test automation, source code management and continuous integration and delivery
• Object Orient Programming, Functional Programming paradigms, writing reusable Java libraries, concurrency patterns in Java
• Confluence / Jira / Bitbucket or Git, CI / CD (Maven, Git, Jenkins)
• HTTP, RESTful APIs, HTML and CSS
• Design and architectural patterns
• AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
