Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer with strong expertise in infrastructure deployment, observability, and backend engineering. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both DevOps and building scalable backend systems, with a passion for developing platforms and tools that power mission-critical services across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and Alerting: Design and automate robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the health, performance, and availability of the platform and supporting infrastructure.
• Application Monitoring: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement effective monitoring strategies for applications and microservices.
• Infrastructure Deployment: Work closely with infrastructure teams to deploy and configure servers, networks, databases, and observability tooling across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Backend Systems Development: Contribute to the development and scaling of backend services, including designing and implementing microservices and APIs from scratch in high-traffic environments.
• Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve platform or service-level incidents quickly and efficiently.
• Documentation and Training: Create and maintain clear documentation, architectural diagrams, and operational guides. Provide training to operations center staff on platform usage and best practices.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, operations, security, and infrastructure teams to align platform capabilities with organizational goals and requirements.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud platforms, observability, and scalable system design.
• Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong culture of engineering excellence and platform ownership.
• Communication: Effectively articulate technical decisions and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
• 7-10 years of hands-on experience as a Platform Engineer, SRE, or Backend Engineer working with distributed systems at scale.
• Proven experience building and scaling microservices in production environments, including greenfield development and system re-architecture.
• Strong experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and observability best practices.
• Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, and at least one general-purpose language (e. g., Python, Go).
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Proficient with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, EC2 VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong skills in Infrastructure-as-Code (e. g., Terraform, Pulumi).
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2016/201+/2026) and familiarity with Linux automation (e. g., Ansible, Puppet).
• Proficient in writing efficient queries using PromQL, LogQL, and GraphQL.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed system design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
• Experience in B2B SaaS or product-centric environments.
• Experience working in 0-1 system builds or infrastructure migrations.
• Polyglot development skills (e. g., Python, Go, Java) are a plus but not required.
