Seamstress / Showroom Attendant
Rightlook Window Fashions Ltd. — Kingston, ON
Part-Time (25–35 Hours per Week) | Potential to Transition to Full-Time
Rightlook Window Fashions Ltd. is a Kingston-based manufacturer and retailer specializing in custom window coverings, drapery, and interior window treatment solutions. Most of our products are designed and manufactured locally in our Kingston facility and supplied to residential and commercial clients throughout Eastern Ontario and beyond.
We are currently hiring for a part-time Seamstress / Showroom Attendant position (25–35 hours per week) with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role as responsibilities expand.
Position Overview
This is a dual-role position combining customer-facing showroom support with skilled sewing and soft window treatment production.
A strong seamstress skill set — specifically the ability to produce custom drapery and other soft fashion products — is a key requirement for this role.
You will:
Assist customers in our retail showroom
Sew and finish custom drapery panels and related soft treatments
Earn a competitive hourly rate for showroom hours
Receive a premium bonus hourly rate for production/seamstress hours
Showroom and sewing hours are tracked separately so specialized production skills are compensated accordingly.
Schedule
25–35 hours per week
Flexible scheduling
Open Monday to Saturday
Part-time position with potential to grow into full-time
The business may close or operate on reduced hours during major holidays, including Christmas and New Year’s, which may result in extended time off during those periods.
Compensation
Competitive base hourly rate (showroom hours)
Premium bonus hourly rate (seamstress and production hours)
Stable, long-term opportunity with growth potential
Compensation is based on sewing skill level and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Showroom & Customer Service
Greet and assist walk-in clients
Guide customers through fabrics, design options, and product selections
Maintain showroom presentation and organization
Support order documentation and customer files
Deliver courteous, professional, and confident customer service
Sewing & Production
Produce custom drapery panels and soft window treatments
Cut, seam, hem, and finish fabrics to specification
Perform quality control and inspection
Support in-house fabrication of custom soft goods
Required Qualifications
Proven seamstress experience
Ability to produce custom drapery and other soft fashion window treatments
Strong attention to detail and workmanship standards
Customer service experience and comfort dealing with the public
Valid driver’s license
Valid passport (rare, intermittent travel may be required)
Professional, reliable, and organized
