The Opportunity
Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for Seasonal Grounds Worker position (40 hrs/wk) at the Education Centre located in Airdrie. This position is available starting immediately until August 2+, 2026. Interviews will be conducted on an on going basis until suitable candidates are found.
Working conditions are primarily outside under all weather conditions. This work is physically demanding and may involve some heavy lifting, prolonged bending and kneeling.
Responsibilities Include
Performs maintenance of all school parkland, playground and other RVS property
Completes grass cutting and landscaping duties such as preparing ground for seeding, laying sod and planting
Performs weeding; pruning; general cleanup of grounds and grounds maintenance
You may be required to drive a truck, operate a commercial mower, tractor and other grounds equipment
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Possessing a valid Driver’s license with the appropriate classification pertaining to the class of vehicle being operated is considered an asset
3 year clear Drivers abstract (if possessing a valid drivers license). Must be within RVS Driver and Fleet safety guidelines
Basic horticulture and landscaping experience an asset or willing to be trained
