Job Description
Temporary FULL-TIME position available immediately on our lawn maintenance crew for approximately 3-4 weeks during spring service/power rake season.
Potential for continued P/T casual work during summer months.
Duties:
Spring lawn services: core aerating, power raking, hand-raking, mowing and fertilizing lawns
Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday, occasional weekends
7:00 am – 3:30/4:00 pm.
Overtime is paid on all hours worked over 8 hours/day.
4% vacation pay is included on each cheque.
Longer days/hours may be required.
Term of Employment:
April until approximately the first week in May
Not suitable for students who are currently in school
Must be available to start work this week
Skills Required:
Training will be provided, however past experience operating commercial walk behind lawnmowers, core aerator, power rake/de-thatcher, trimmer and leaf blower is an asset.
A valid class 5 drivers license is required and a vehicle to get to and from work each day is a must.
This is a physically demanding job and applicants must be able to work outside in dusty conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ideal candidates must be able to follow directions, pay close attention to detail, show up for work when scheduled and take pride in the work that they do.
Starting (training) wage is $17.00 per hour (depending on experience).
4% vacation pay is included on each cheque
Individuals with past work experience in this type of work and those who learn quickly and excel in their skills and ability to perform the duties of the job will be compensated accordingly.
