SECONDARY TEACHING POSITION
Dual Credit Support Teacher
Assignment:
One part-time (0.50FTE) teacher required for 3 sections in Semester 2:
1 section of Dual Credit - Environmental Concerns
Location : Georgian College, Owen Sound
Dates : Mondays from April 28, 2026 to June 16, 2026
1 section of Dual Credit - Practical Photography
Location : Clean Water Centre, Walkerton through Fanshawe College
Dates : Wednesdays from April 2+, 2026 to June 10, 2026
1 section of Dual Credit - Electrical Trades
Location : Georgian College Owen Sound
Dates : Thursdays from April 24, 2026 to June 5, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support student success in a college-delivered dual credit course on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between +:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m,; preparation time scheduled on Tuesdays
Work with Georgian College and Fanshawe College to provide orientation for participating students
Support the Adult and Continuing Education department with student communication, marking, and reporting
Connect regularly with assigned students, providing the teacher an opportunity to ensure that students are meeting the academic requirements of the college course
Support student access to appropriate resources
Provide/facilitate remediation
Refer students for career counselling to secondary school staff or to college support services, if necessary or requested by the students
Prepare forms as outlined in board policy
Collect and submit data as required
Coordinate the exchange of academic progress information (marks and attendance) between the college and secondary school-level staff to support student success
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Secondary teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
Special education qualifications preferred
Assets:
A sound philosophy of education and knowledge in a variety of Ontario secondary curriculum areas
An understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, Growing Success, and Learning For All
Excellent leadership, administrative, and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Experience in working effectively as a team member
Experience working with students who are at-risk
Experience coordinating services
Reliable internet access
Job Requirements:
Clean drivers abstract
Access to a reliable vehicle
Eligible to work in Canada
Clean vulnerable sector police check.
