Secondary Teacher

💰 $4,200 - $6,720 (Est.) 📍 Launceston

Job Description

Are you tired of large classes? Want to teach in a community that feels like family?

Join our growing Christian school and make a real difference.

About ACC

Australian Christian College (ACC) is a protestant non-denominational, Christian Education organisation, whose mission is to develop each and every student to be equipped spiritually, academically, socially and physically to flourish into their full potential, and be a positive influence on the world around them. ACC is wholeheartedly committed to excellence in education so that students are “well known, well loved, and well taught” by dedicated trained Christian staff.

ACC is part of Christian Education Ministries, with 17 schools in 5 states, and is also the largest non-government Distance Education provider in Australia.

About ACC Launceston

Our Launceston Campus in Tasmania is a K-10 co-ed Christian school. While the school community is still relatively small (120+), the growth over the past five years has been strong and sustained as is the school’s learning environment and culture.

Forget being just another face in a crowded staffroom. At ACC Launceston, we are building something special: a close-knit community united by a shared faith and a passion for education.

As a growing school, we offer a unique and exciting environment. We’re small enough that every teacher is known and valued, but we’re dynamic enough to offer real opportunities for professional growth. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and truly lives out our shared purpose.

But perhaps our greatest asset? Smaller class sizes. We believe in quality over quantity, giving you the time and space to actually teach, build deep relationships, and see your students flourish academically and spiritually.

Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

ACC is a child safe organisation which welcomes all children, young people and their families. We are committed to providing environments where our students are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Our child safe policies, strategies and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children and students. We have no tolerance for child abuse and take proactive steps to identify and manage any risks of harm to students in our school environments.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Teacher with the ability to teach across a range of subject areas to join our dynamic and supportive Christian school community.

This full-time role (1.0 FTE) will commence in Term 2, 2026 (or as soon as is practicable).

Requirements

We are looking for teachers who:

See teaching as a ministry and are actively involved in a local church.
Thrive in a "hands-on" community and are excited to help shape a growing school.
Build positive, structured, and engaging classrooms, setting high and fair expectations.
Are committed to excellence, demonstrating a strong understanding of (or a real willingness to master) evidence-based practices like ******** Direct Instruction (EDI).
Love to collaborate and see the value in a supportive, shared-purpose staff team.

Benefits

We know that moving schools (or cities) is a big decision. We value our staff and invest in them accordingly.

Smaller Classes: The gift of time and connection with your students.
Authentic Christian Community: A work environment where you can live out your faith and be encouraged daily.
Career & Leadership Growth: As a growing school, we offer tangible opportunities for leadership development and career progression.
Excellent Resources: You'll work with well-established and resourced teaching programs.
