Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Secretary to provide administrative support within our office environment. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, handle correspondence, and ensure smooth communication across departments. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency in office management tools, and a customer-focused attitude.
Responsibilities
Records, maintains and distributes minutes. Provides data and creates presentations and spreadsheets.
Performs clerical duties such as answering phone calls, handling mail, maintaining files and records, inventory, and ordering office supplies. Disseminates information to Local, District, State, and National when necessary.
Attends and provides all necessary reports, minutes, and paperwork necessary for the Department Convention and Conferences. Arranges and verifies enough space and chairs are available for the Auxiliary and Junior meetings.
Responsible for the distribution of materials received from National Headquarter to Delegates.
Meets National deadlines for obligations and follows the Department Operations Guide.
Assists with Girls’ State clerical needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirement
High school diploma or GED
One year experience as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary
Strong knowledge of MS Office
Strong communications and people skills
Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Must be available for all Department Conferences and Convention
Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary is a must.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
