Green Light Security is a growing, locally owned company specializing in electronic security solutions for commercial and residential clients across the Lower Mainland. We focus on quality installations, long-term client relationships, and building a strong reputation in the industry. Our team is small but dedicated, and we are actively expanding to meet demand in high-growth areas like Surrey, Langley, Burnaby, Vancouver and more.
We are hiring a qualified Security Systems Technician to support commercial installations. This role is for an experienced professional capable of working independently on job sites. We’re open to subcontractors or direct hire depending on fit.
Scope of Work:
Installing and servicing intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV systems
Running cable, bending/installing conduit, mounting devices, programming panels
Working in both wood-frame and concrete buildings (including drilling/mounting)
Leading or collaborating with junior helpers when needed
Requirements:
Minimum 2–3 years experience in commercial security system installation
Must be familiar with BC Electrical Code and commercial low-voltage standards
Holds a valid Security Alarm TQ license in BC (required)
FSR is a strong asset (or working toward it)
Own vehicle and basic tools
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Comfortable working without supervision and troubleshooting on site
Clear communication and documentation skills
Compensation:
$30–$50/hour, depending on experience and credentials
Paid weekly
Flexible schedule possible, but consistent weekday availability is required
No office reporting – all work is dispatched directly to sites
We’re building a lean, high-performing team for upcoming projects. Preference will be given to technicians with valid TQ and/or FSR credentials, experience in commercial environments, and the ability to manage smaller projects or take the lead when needed.
