Job Description
We are recruiting for a Security Officer to work with local businesses and community at the Newton BIA area in Surrey
Shift times: Saturdays and Sundays, 0800 - 1600
Payrate: $22.25/hr
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the RCMP as a visible community presence to promote safety and security
Working with local businesses and community members to ensure save environment
Observe and report any unusual activity
Taking detailed notes to investigate incidents promptly and accurately
Establishing positive relationships with transit police, business owners, and community members
Engaging with the public and responding to their concerns and inquiries
Your Must-Haves:
You hold a valid BC security license
Advanced Security Training certification
You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a security position, ideally in a similar environment
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
You have proven experience dealing with various members of the public
You have proven time-management and organizational skills
Be physically able to conduct extensive foot patrols, and to spend your shift up on your feet
Nice to haves:
BC Class 5 Drivers license

Commissionaires provides security services for over 200 sites and are located in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.
Our guards are not only behind the scenes providing security and access control, but front and center providing valued customer service to the public.
