We are seeking professional, polished, and highly capable Security Guards to join our growing team of protection specialists. Successful candidates will embody integrity, vigilance, and professionalism while representing Blackmark and our clients to the highest standards.
Position Overview
As a Security Guard with Blackmark Protection, you will be responsible for safeguarding clients, personnel, assets, and property across high-profile environments. This role demands exceptional situational awareness, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a coordinated team.
You will serve as a visible deterrent to potential threats, respond to incidents calmly and decisively, and provide clients with a sense of safety, confidence, and trust through your professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of situational awareness and operational readiness at all times.
Conduct access control, visitor screening, and perimeter checks in accordance with client protocols.
Monitor and respond to CCTV, alarm, and access control systems as required.
Provide exceptional client service and act as a professional representative of Blackmark and our clients.
Identify and report security risks, hazards, and irregularities in a timely and accurate manner.
Support emergency response, evacuations, and incident management in accordance with established procedures.
Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident documentation.
Collaborate with Protective Intelligence and SOC teams when applicable.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance consistent with Blackmark’s standards of excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (or equivalent provincial license).
Minimum 2+ years of professional security or law enforcement experience, preferably in corporate, community, luxury retail, or high-profile environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging with executives, staff, and the public.
Proven ability to de-escalate situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
Physically fit with the ability to stand, walk, and respond rapidly in emergencies.
Professional demeanour, discretion, and confidentiality are essential.
Valid Driver’s Licence (G or higher) and reliable transportation an asset.
First Aid/CPR Certification required; additional emergency response or defensive tactics training an asset.
Familiarity with CCTV, access control, and incident reporting systems preferred.
