Responsibilities
You will control access and departures of vehicles and pedestrians in controlled areas to prevent unauthorized access
You will serve as member of entry control/vehicle inspection team, which conducts private and commercial vehicle inspections
You will furnish technical direction to an entry control team to properly perform vehicle inspections
You will inspect private and commercial vehicles to determine if safe to enter installation
You will assist personnel during an emergency situation (e.g., accidents, drills, fire, natural disasters, motor vehicle or industrial accidents, political demonstrations, hostage or terrorist situations) to protect the safety of life and property
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep +6) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1+68
You will be subject to random testing
This is a Mission Essential position
You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
Required to wear a uniform and comply with grooming standards in accordance with Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) directives
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Physical Demands : The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, driving, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and similar activities
Employees engage in such exertions when pursuing and detaining suspects or participating in weapons or other kinds of training activities, climbing stairs in office buildings, or walking foot patrols in and around large buildings
Some security guard positions may require common physical characteristics and abilities in agility and dexterity and the strength to pursue and detain uncooperative suspects
Work Environment: The work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress which require a range of safety and other precautions
This level includes work in a high risk area where the public has easy access and guards perform their duties in locations where persons may be armed while attempting criminal activity, espionage, subversion, sabotage, and terrorism directed against the Navy installations, which can lead to assault with or without a weapon in order to avoid arrest
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required
Active Duty Service Members are required to submit a statement of service printed on command letterhead and signed by the command
The statement of service must provide the branch of service, rate/rank, all dates of service, the expected date of discharge and anticipated character of service (Honorable, General, etc.)
