The role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Security Officer to assist in the provision of security services in relation to Council's assets, sites, staff, and elected members. As a first responder to emergency situations, your knowledge and skills with critical decision making will effect to provide benefits for increased public safety on behalf of the City of Salisbury.
As a Security Officer you will assist in security maintenance requirements and projects, and ensure Council's keying systems, electronic security alarm and CCTV systems are operating satisfactorily and provide customer service.
You will provide out of hours monitored security response to call outs at Council's premises in relation to alarms, break-ins etc on a rostered basis (Overtime and Availability Allowance paid).
Specialist Skills, Required Knowledge and Conditions:
Appropriate Security Officer qualifications and a current South Australian Security Agent licence is essential, including clearance from the Commissioner and for Liquor and Gambling to act as an approved Crowd Controller.
Previous demonstrated experience working in a similar role.
Previous experience in the use of surveillance systems; duress alarm systems; proximity access card systems, alarm monitoring software, commercial CCTV and electronic security/software systems.
An ability to understand and accept changes in the workplace and to respond to the processes of change management.
Intermediate Microsoft Office suite working knowledge and skill level.
This position has been identified as a "Prescribed Position" under Council's Criminal and Relevant History Screening Procedures.
Accordingly the applicant will need to provide a suitable screening certificate prior to appointment to the position and maintain such clearance during their employment in this role.
Provide First Aid certification required to be held for the role
Chief Emergency Warden certification required to be held for the role
Valid SA Driver's Licence (C Class or higher) required and maintained during employment in this role.
