Job Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the organization's premises, employees, visitors, and assets. The role includes monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence.
Report suspicious behaviors and happenings to supervisors.
Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
Provide assistance during emergencies such as fire or medical incidents.
Enforce company policies and safety regulations.
Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports.
Check and inspect security systems and equipment to ensure functionality.
Ensure that all security breaches and incidents are recorded and reported.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security is a plus.
Proven experience as a security officer or guard.
Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
Familiarity with report writing.
Excellent observation and surveillance skills.
Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods.
