Job Summary
The Unarmed Security Shift Supervisor at Good Guard Security is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of security personnel during their assigned shifts. This role involves managing a team of security guards, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients and their properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership:
Oversee and manage the performance of security personnel on duty.
Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff on security protocols and procedures.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor security systems and surveillance equipment to ensure the safety of the premises.
Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and address potential security risks.
Prepare and submit daily activity reports detailing incidents, observations, and any actions taken.
Incident Management:
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
Investigate reported incidents and document findings for further review.
Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
Client Relations:
Maintain professional relationships with clients and address their security concerns effectively.
Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss security needs and recommendations.
Policy Compliance:
Ensure all security personnel adhere to company policies and procedures.
Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting security operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in security management or related field is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in security, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and risk management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Proficient in using security technology and software.
Must possess a valid security guard license as required by state/local regulations.
Working Conditions
The Unarmed Security Shift Supervisor will work in various environments, including commercial buildings, residential complexes, and event venues. The role may require standing for extended periods, walking, and responding to emergencies. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
