Security/Alarm Technician, Thompson Bros Video Alarms.

Thompson Bros Video Alarms was founded in 2008 to provide a specialised technical service for video alarm systems in the form of consultancy, installations, servicing and monitoring station software integration and training.

Thompson Bros Video Alarms focuses on servicing the acute security needs of vacant large construction sites, commercial sites with fenced lots and other sites targeted in copper theft, fuel theft, arson and vandalism.

Thompson Bros Video Alarms presently installs and monitors electronic security, remote video systems, nurse call systems and time lapse video systems for over 600 active sites throughout Australia. The company has grown and now operates across Australia, with permanent staff in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

Due to further expansion in the NSW market, we are currently searching for experienced Security/Alarm Technicians to join our team.

You will be responsible for performing the installation, deployment and maintenance of video alarm systems, time lapse camera systems, nurse call systems and CCTV systems.

This position involves undertaking such installations unsupervised, as well as guiding and mentoring junior staff. You will be liaising directly with the company's commercial client base, with a number of key, well established national customers.

The role will be based in and around the Greater Sydney area, with occasional requirement to travel within NSW. Occasional interstate travel may also be required from time to time. Working hours will range between 7am and 5pm on weekdays and some overtime will be required.

The Right Person:

· The successful candidate must be an Australian resident, who holds a valid driver’s licence and Building Industry Induction card (White Card).

· Cable licence and Security licence holder preferred.

· Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

· The keys to success in this role are strong network, systems and PC related skills, plus a strong installation and commissioning ethic.

· Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work on your own as well as within a dedicated team.

· As Thompson Bros has an excellent reputation for customer service, your ability to liaise and deal with clients, site managers and their staff in a professional, courteous manner is a must.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Be the holder of a Building Industry Induction card (White Card).

· Security Equipment Installer License desirable.

· Cabling experience. Open cable licence preferred.

· Driver’s Licence.

· Physically able to work with tools and in roof spaces, underfloor areas and on roofs. Able to climb ladders and cranes.

· Desired Working at Heights certified and EWP qualified.

· Desired Experience in Dahua, Hikvision, Milesight and Bosch systems.

· Experience in working with video alarm systems is desirable, including installation, programming and setting up for monitoring.

· Demonstrated Customer Service Experience with good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Be highly organised and able to manage time, equipment and stock on hand.

· Self motivated with the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
