Hey there! I’m the CEO of a small ghostwriting business. We’ve had a great deal of success over the past 1.5 years and I’m looking to hire 2-3 experienced romance plot writers to cater to the high demand in services we have been receiving.
We have an amazing reputation, so it’s important to only submit a proposal if you have a 100% job completion rate and glowing reviews from past clients.
I need romance writers who have a strong grasp of the “Romancing the Beat” method and can produce high-quality, detailed chapter outlines. If you’ve read and worked with this method, can demonstrate strong outlining skills, and meet deadlines, I’d love to hear from you.
What I’m Looking For:
Strong grasp of common romance character and plot tropes.
Comfortable outlining spicy romance books that will sometimes feature LGBTQIA+ leads.
Comfortable writing outlines for books with taboo topics and dark romance themes (such as Omegaverse, mafia romance, and potentially triggering backstories, but I only take on projects that display healthy romances).
Ability to complete a min. of 5K words per outline within 5 days.
Outlines must be highly detailed (not just 2-3 sentences per chapter). I will provide samples if I choose to interview you.
Experience outlining for a range of story lengths, from 10K word shorts to 70K word novels.
Must be able to demonstrate experience with complete outlines for various book lengths.
Ability to respond to messages within 24 hours.
The Job:
I will provide the plot summary, character bios, and a skeleton outline that breaks key plot points into four acts. Your job will be to expand these into detailed chapter summaries (usually 15 to 30 chapters), with some flexibility in chapter count based on the story.
I’m very involved in the process, so you’ll receive direction and guidance. Revisions won’t usually be required unless there’s a significant issue. I will, however, share my edits with you to ensure smoother delivers in the future.
Pay:
$25-$40 per outline, depending on the project size.
Pay increases every 6 months as I raise the overall price of services.
Important Note:
Turnaround time for projects is 10 days or less per outline.
If you cannot respond within 24 hours, I likely won’t contract you for future projects.
Please keep your CV letters brief. Just let me know about you and your experience. Attach some samples of outlines you’ve created. I’ll also accept links to any well-rated romance books you’ve published under your own name/pen name.
NO links to full manuscripts or chapter samples. I won’t read them as this doesn’t demonstrate ability to write outlines.
