We are searching for experienced selective entry tutors to support students preparing for entry into:
Mac.Robertson Girls' High School
Melbourne High School
Nossal High School
Suzanne Cory High School
John Monash Science School

Our selective entry program is designed to take students beyond surface-level preparation. We combine:
Small, focused group classes (max 10 students)
1-on-1 coaching sessions

Both online and at our centre in Wantirna South, we help every student walk into exam day feeling ready.
Your Role at Nova Scholars
Teach Reasoning, Not Just Content Help students think flexibly across Maths, Reading, Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Numerical Reasoning
Support Each Student Individually Use 1-on-1s to review their progress, work through problem areas, set goals, and make sure no one is left behind.
Build Their Confidence Many of our students are bright but anxious. Your job is to turn "I'm not smart enough" into "I'm ready." Your encouragement, accountability, and clarity matter more than you know.
Create a Positive Learning Environment Students perform best when they feel comfortable, respected, and challenged — you help make that happen.
What You Bring
Tutoring Experience (Required)
Demonstrated experience tutoring students for selective entry or scholarship exam preparation
Familiarity with the ACER selective entry exam format across Maths, Reading, Writing, and Verbal/Numerical Reasoning
References or evidence of past selective entry tutoring outcomes preferred
Academic Strength
Strong ATAR (95+) or university-level academic standing
Attended a Victorian selective entry school (Mac.Rob, Melbourne High, Nossal, Suzanne Cory, JMSS) ; highly regarded but not essential if tutoring experience is strong
Subject Coverage We are looking for tutors comfortable across one or more of:
Mathematics & Quantitative Reasoning
Reading Comprehension & Verbal Reasoning
Creative & Persuasive Writing
General Ability / Abstract Reasoning
Communication Skills
Able to break complex problems into simple, logical steps
Comfortable teaching small groups and working 1-on-1 with students and parents
Patient, clear, and encouraging teaching style

Reliable and committed across the full preparation cycle
Organised, approachable, and energetic
Practical Requirements
Weekly availability (approx. 6–10 hours)
Able to teach at our Wantirna South centre and online
Willing to complete Nova Scholars' training program
