About the role
Viterra is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term position based at our Parkside office. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact by providing crucial financial insights and supporting key business decisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play an integral part in shaping the future of finance at Viterra while working with a team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Duties
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with month-end tasks, reconciliations, and financial analysis to support business unit profitability.
Manage tax compliance requirements, including income tax, FBT, BAS, and IAS.
Work with the Financial Controller to assist with budget preparation and forecasts.
Coordinate internal controls testing and liaise with external auditors.
Continuously drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across financial tasks.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional development.
Participate in ad-hoc financial projects, contributing your expertise to business initiatives.
About you
A degree in accounting and membership with CA or CPA.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a large accounting firm or commercial management accounting role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and high competency in Excel.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a high-pressure environment.
A team player with a focus on fostering collaboration and positive relationships.
