The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate close for month end and SOX compliance deliverables have been met across the Australian Defence and Security Solutions (ADSS) business.

This position requires a technical Accounting professional who is highly analytical and organised, an experienced problem solver who rolls up their sleeves, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

This is permanent full-time position based in either Brisbane (preferred) or Canberra.

The successful applicant must be able to obtain an AGSVA security clearance.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:

Support Monthly, Quarterly and Annual month end close activities assisting with the review and approval of Billing, journals, reporting, analysis and commentary; reconciliations and ensuring SOX compliance deliverables are met

Business Partnering to OU Finance Managers, Project Controls and Functional Leads

Contribute to Internal and External audit requests

Management & evolution of Cashflow Reporting Process

Preparation of Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations

Management of Internal and External Reporting related to Payments & Receivables

Assist with the Annual Budget and forecast processes

Management of the Property Leases processes in conjunction with the Shared Services teams

Provide backup and support to other team members over leave periods

Assist with other duties and reporting requirements as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree or certification in a related field (required)

Previous experience in Defence Industry (desirable)

CPA/CA Accredited (required)

Cash flow Reporting (required)

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power BI (desirable)

Well-developed communication and time management skills.

Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
